ISSUE was a publication by The Substation that features a different theme every quarter. Witty, honest and down-to-earth, ISSUE snubs the ostentatious art criticism literary by keeping it real and raw. This no-holds-barred publication presents a unique take on issues surround art making in Singapore, tackling topics from gender to activism, technology to food that has been gathered from a variety of perspectives, from NGO leaders to artists. This comes alongside with a comics section, top 5 list, and the latest happenings at The Substation.
The visual direction was inspired by the topic of Gender that the issue n°.01 explores. This is expressed in the practice of collage-making and the re-assemblage of everyday printed material.
